My interactive multimedia authoring experience is mostly in the area of interactive educational programs and custom video distribution. My experience in Flash actually starts with Macromedia Director 4 in 1996. As Macromedia started to favor adding innovations to Flash instead of Director (like flv streaming video distribution) I moved on to Flash, the heir apparent. I've been all Flash ever since.
Example of a flash animation and menu that I made for RosettaNetExperts. The customer gave me a storyline with copy and by his account I fulfilled his vision.
I created the more complex sprites, like the trees, in Adobe Illustrator and then I imported them into Flash.
I also have experience creating Flash live Streaming Video Players for Akamai Technologies. I have more than my share of experience with Brightcove. This includes customizing players, analytics, and custom embed code to pass in Flash Vars from Content Management Systems. I also have deep experience in Brightcove Administration.
The Mission: One of my
specialties was creating interactive CDs for new Johnson & Johnson
medical devices, usually DePuy Orthopedics products. Often times in
the orthopedic world a representative
would
not have much of an opportunity to touch products and instruments
before going into surgery as an observer, especially with new products.
The focus of these CDs was to educate our representatives about our
products without actually seeing the product. They usual included
live or cadaver surgical demonstration videos, a library of all relevant
documentation a detailed breakdown of the instrumentation, and most
importantly the advantages of this product compared to the competition.
These educational tools provided the representative with a method
to become knowledgeable in a short period of time. This product was
meant to be distributed on CD but I
have adapted it for online viewing. I have removed the videos
to reduce file size down to less than 100 mg (and the videos contain
proprietary knowledge that I am not at liberty to distribute).
If you attempt to view areas that have been removed you will see your
cursor turn into a no symbol.
Since a significant portion of the audience was older and not tech savvy I provided a way for users to click through the content in a chronological order with a professional voiceover for all textual content.
For the users who knew exactly what information they needed they could use the tabbed navigation skip to that information.
This is another example using a simple Flash project for instrumentation familiarization. I did all the photography for all the instruments.
